26 September 2024 - 10:30

With the increasing digitalization of transactions and the development of new technologies, digital currency has become a major issue for many central banks around the world in recent years.

This webinar in English, simultaneously translated into French, details what an interbank central bank digital currency (known as "wholesale") could look like: why? how? where do we stand? what are the next steps?

It will take place in hybrid mode: the face-to-face session is part of the IBFI seminar programme "Managing innovation in a central bank" and will be broadcast live via our videoconferencing tool.

Nota Bene    This webinar is the 3rd in our 2024 series. The first two webinars on wholesale and retail central bank digital money took place on 12 April and 11 June respectively. They are available for replay on the IBFI platform Authentification - MediaServer - Banque de France (ubicast.tv) (free account creation with a central bank email address). The final 2024 webinar on the digital euro, the central bank's digital retail currency, will be held in December. More information on the IBFI seminar calendar.
